Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Ian Bibby Coaching services. By purchasing a coaching package or using our website, you agree to these terms.

Who you are contracting with: Ian Bibby Coaching is a trading name of IMB TRADING LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16419234. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean IMB TRADING LTD. The company owns and operates this website and is the party you contract with when you buy coaching. Registered office: 91 Broadwood Drive, Fulwood, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 9TE, United Kingdom.

1. Services

Ian Bibby Coaching provides personalised cycling coaching services, including but not limited to:

  • Customised training plans
  • Video and in-person coaching sessions
  • Performance analysis and feedback
  • Access to coaching platforms (TrainingPeaks)
  • Communication support via agreed channels

Specific services included depend on your chosen coaching package, as detailed on our pricing page.

2. Subscription & Payment

2.1 Billing

Coaching is arranged directly with Ian following an enquiry or discovery call. Monthly packages are billed monthly in advance and continue until cancelled. Online card payment is being set up; until then, payment details are agreed with you when your coaching starts.

2.2 Minimum term

Monthly Performance Coaching runs for a minimum term of three months from your start date, after which it continues on a rolling monthly basis. One-off event plans are a single payment and carry no ongoing commitment.

2.3 Pricing

Prices are displayed in GBP and are subject to change. We will notify existing clients of any price changes at least 30 days in advance.

2.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to process it again. Continued failure may result in suspension of coaching services until payment is resolved.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

3.1 Cancellation

After the three-month minimum term, you may cancel your coaching at any time with 30 days' notice. Cancellation requests should be sent to [email protected].

3.2 Refunds

Due to the personalised nature of coaching services, refunds are generally not provided for partially used months. If you cancel mid-month, you will retain access to coaching until the end of your paid period.

3.3 Cooling-Off Period

New clients have a 14-day cooling-off period from the start of their subscription. This applies regardless of the minimum term — if you wish to cancel within this period, contact us for a pro-rata refund.

4. Client Responsibilities

As a coaching client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your health, fitness, and goals
  • Communicate openly about injuries, illness, or life circumstances affecting training
  • Follow training plans as prescribed or communicate if adjustments are needed
  • Attend scheduled coaching calls and sessions (or provide reasonable notice for rescheduling)
  • Use coaching platforms and tools as directed

5. Health & Safety

5.1 Health Questionnaire

All new clients are required to complete a Health Questionnaire (PAR-Q) before coaching can begin. This is standard practice in UK sports coaching and helps ensure your safety.

5.2 GP Clearance

If your PAR-Q answers indicate a potential health concern, we will ask you to confirm that your GP has cleared you to take part. You can still submit the questionnaire before you have that clearance — but coaching will not begin until you confirm it, and we may ask to see it in writing.

5.3 Remote coaching, health and training risk

Cycling, running and endurance training carry inherent risks, including the risk of injury. Those risks exist whenever you train, and coaching does not remove them.

Our coaching is delivered remotely. We prescribe training, review your data and advise you; you decide when, where and how to train, and you train unsupervised. You are the only person who can judge how you feel on the day.

You are responsible for:

  • deciding whether you are well enough to train on any given day, and for stopping if you feel unwell, in pain, or unsafe;
  • your own equipment, its condition and its suitability;
  • your choice of route, terrain and conditions, and for training within the law wherever you are;
  • giving us accurate and complete health information, and telling us promptly when your health, medication or injuries change.

We provide sports coaching only. We are not doctors and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and we do not provide clinical nutrition or dietetic advice. Nothing we say replaces advice from a qualified medical professional, and you should speak to one about any symptom, injury or health concern.

What this section does not do. Nothing here removes our responsibility to do our own work with reasonable care and skill, and nothing here excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Section 9 sets out the limits of our responsibility, and what we never limit.

5.4 Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of information provided in your health questionnaire
  • Informing your coach promptly of any changes to your health status, medication, or injuries
  • Seeking medical advice for any health concerns — your coach is not qualified to provide medical guidance

We strongly recommend a medical check-up before starting any new training programme, particularly if you have pre-existing conditions.

6. Intellectual Property

All training plans, materials, and content provided as part of coaching services remain the intellectual property of IMB TRADING LTD. The same applies to this website and its content — text, photography, tools and design. You may not:

  • Share training plans with others
  • Reproduce or distribute coaching materials
  • Use materials for commercial purposes

Some parts of this website are owned by third parties and used under licence rather than owned outright — the climb calculator software is one, and its own copyright notice sets out who owns what. Nothing in this section claims ownership of anything licensed from someone else, and nothing here affects your rights over data you give us, which is covered by our Privacy Policy.

7. Confidentiality

We respect your privacy and will keep your personal and training information confidential. We may use anonymised data for testimonials or case studies only with your explicit consent.

8. Communication

Response times vary by coaching package:

  • Performance Plus Coaching: daily feedback and unlimited calls
  • Monthly Performance Coaching: continued WhatsApp support and one scheduled monthly call
  • One-Off Event Plans: two 15-minute calls and feedback every four weeks

Support is provided during reasonable UK hours unless otherwise agreed.

9. Our responsibility to you

9.1 When we are responsible. If we fail to carry out our services with reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of that failure.

9.2 What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or by the negligence of anyone working for us;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

9.3 What we are not responsible for.

  • Sporting results. Performance depends on things outside our control, including your training, health, sleep, nutrition, life circumstances, equipment, race conditions and luck. We do not guarantee any result, time, placing, power figure or qualification.
  • Platforms and devices. We are not responsible for failures of services we do not control, such as TrainingPeaks, Strava or Zwift, or of your own devices, power meter or heart-rate monitor — including where their data is wrong. This does not apply where we should reasonably have noticed the data was wrong and did not.
  • Information you did not give us. We are not responsible for loss caused by health information you did not give us, or did not update, to the extent that loss was caused by the missing information.
  • Losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made.

9.4 Events outside our control, and coach availability. If something outside our reasonable control prevents us performing — including illness — we will tell you as soon as we can, pause your coaching, and extend or refund the affected period at your choice. If we cannot resume within a reasonable time you may end the contract and we will refund everything paid for coaching not yet delivered. We may use a suitably qualified coach to cover a temporary absence; we remain responsible for the service either way.

9.5 Our limit for everything else. Subject to section 9.2, our total liability to you is limited to £1,000,000. This limit applies to one incident, or to a series of incidents caused by the same or related errors. It never reduces below the amount you have paid us for the services concerned.

9.6 Your legal rights. These terms do not affect your legal rights as a consumer, including your right to have services carried out with reasonable care and skill. You can get free advice from Citizens Advice or your local Trading Standards service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active clients at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
